Day 33 Notes

Today was the first day of the Alps to Ocean with Rachel. Wow wow wow, just awesome views and scenery where ever you looked. Leaving Tekapo you quickly find your way to riding next to the canal, all the way down to the Lake Pukaki from there. There is a little road followed by a good trail next to Lake Pukaki, and along to the Dam wall, where we were disappointed with the Mt Cook Salmon farm store; they could do so much more.. so we kept going to Twizel. Following lunch we went on to the spot for the night which is a camping site near Lake Ruataniwha. On the Saturday there was to be the South Island Champs  rowing competition and it was very impressive to see the rowing lanes marked out. As we staying at the lake Rach and I took the opportunity to chill the legs. It is off to Lake Ohau tomorrow.
