Day 29 Notes

Wow, Cycling days like these don’t come often, a great day on the bike, from Wanaka it was over the Crown Range passing through Cadrona with the wind behind me. This is an iconic cycling road and it did not disappoint.  Came across a road sign that gave an indication of what was about to come “towing not recommended” got to love that.  Just before Cadrona came across the bra fence supporting breast cancer, wow there are a lot of bras there, if you going up remember to take a coin of two.  The Cadrona Hotel is just as the pictures depict idyllic a great place to stop, although the having a beer would have been better.   The Crown Range climb is awesome with the wind behind you, still hard but nice having the wind behind. The Descent from the Crown Range is bloody awesome had a few cars slowing me down which is possibly a good thing.  I then took a gravel track Glencoe Rd, and on to the Tobins Track down to Arrowtown, this again is a great off road downhill.  Had a lunch with a couple on tour Aotearoa which was a good break, then it was on to Cromwell. The Gibson track leaving Arrowtown and going to towards Cromwell is good, gone through the Barfoot tunnel and the bungie bridge, this part of the country is just awesome. On the way to Cromwell I passed the Roaring Meg. No bottle of wine  but did get bunch of peaches on the way in to Cromwell . In all a great day to be on the bike.
