Starting at the Cape Reinga light house I am going to cycle down state highway 1 aka Cape Reinga road for around 16Km before turning at Te Paki Stream Road. From there just head straight down to the northern end of 90 mile beach. It is then onto 80 absolutely flat km along 90 Mile beach to Ahipara. This will be my first long cycle on a beach. Must remember to give the bike a good wash down at Ahipara to remove all the salt, and take plenty of drink as there is not much along the way. (no gas stations on the beach).
